Holidays or how to take care of your health?

Summer is coming and with it a well-deserved holiday. However, summer holidays are not always just about relaxing, sometimes a change and a break from your normal routine can be a challenge that brings stressful moments. Don't forget to think about yourself and your health when planning, packing and organising. What should you take with you on holiday and incorporate into your daily ritual so that you feel fit, radiant and refreshed when you return from your holiday?

Skin care - collagen and hyaluronic acid

The sun and the sea are good for us in many ways, but they can also be taxing and drying on the skin. One way to nourish and hydrate your skin in summer is with a combination of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Collagen is a protein, the basic building block of connective tissue. It makes up about 30% of all proteins in the human body. The highest concentration of collagen is found in skin, tendons, ligaments, bones, cartilage and hair. Collagen is credited with reducing and softening wrinkles, improving and restoring skin elasticity and promoting vitality.

Hyaluronic acid (hyaluronan) is a substance that is naturally found in our body, especially in the skin, connective tissues and eyes. It has the ability to bind water to itself and hold it in cellular spaces, keeping the skin hydrated and tissues moist.

A refreshing collagen drink for health and beauty

Hydrate your skin from the inside and improve its elasticity with a collagen drink with hyaluronic acid from the Hemnia range. It is enriched with vitamin C and chicory root fibre, which contributes to healthy digestion. The drink has a fresh mint and lemon flavour, making it ideal for refreshing in the sultry summer.

Simply mix the collagen drink in water. For easier dosing, the contents are divided into sachets, making it easy to take exactly as much as you need with you wherever you go. Improve the quality of your skin, hair and nails and give yourself a boost and a nice healthy ritual to start each day.

How to protect yourself from the sun?

Even on holiday, it's important to take regular care of your body and skin inside and out. Of course, sun protection should be a priority, so don't forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses and headwear for you and your children.

The sun's rays can burn the skin, cause premature skin aging and increase the risk of skin problems. That's why it's important to use a good quality sunscreen with a sufficient UV factor and apply it regularly during the day.

If you do get burnt, apply a cool compress to the affected area or take a shower with lukewarm water and apply a product containing panthenol or aloe vera, which can help soothe and regenerate the skin. Various special ointments with hemp, panthenol and other natural substances can also help.

Regular care: lavender-scented regenerating ointment

Our tip for daily skin care is CBD & Hemp Care - a versatile hemp ointment. It can be used on dry, stressed and irritated skin. It is based on oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant, which naturally promotes skin health, gives it elasticity, protects and regenerates.

This ointment contains cannabidiol (CBD), which is known for its positive effects on relieving inflammation, pain and certain skin conditions. There are already several studies that have looked into the therapeutic potential of CBD and its effect on the skin.

The all-purpose hemp ointment is suitably complemented by lavender essential oil to scent and spice up the holiday atmosphere, whether you're in the mountains, by the sea or in the country at grandma's house.

The sleep régime

Summer vacation should be a time of rest and energy renewal. However, many people face difficulties with sleep. Various factors such as unfamiliar surroundings, different bedding, high temperatures, the stress of travel or time zone changes can disrupt sleep patterns. If you don't get enough sleep, it can adversely affect your holiday experience.

So, even on holiday, try to maintain your sleep hygiene - go to bed and get up around the same time, avoid TV screens and phones before bed, limit stimulants such as caffeine and alcohol, try reading, meditating or listening to relaxing music to induce a restful sleep.

CBD and CBN oils and sleep drops

If you know you struggle with insomnia and stress on vacation, take CBD oil with you on your travels. There are several scientific studies that suggest CBD can help with insomnia and relieve stress and anxiety. The results of a 2019 study confirmed that CBD improved sleep quality in 66.7% and reduced anxiety in 79.2% of patients.

A suitable choice may be full-spectrum CBD Hemp Oil 10%, which contains other beneficial substances such as flavonoids and terpenes in addition to CBD. The THC content is less than 0.2%.

You can also try Good Night's Sleep Hemp Oil 5% with CBD and CBN (cannabinol). CBN is a cannabinoid that, like CBD, is found naturally in the cannabis plant. It is often recommended for sleep problems. For example, a 1995 scientific study conducted on animals confirmed the increase in sleep time. The conclusions of scientific studies on CBN itself and its effect on sleep in humans are still very limited and ambiguous, but the effectiveness of oils with CBN can be explained by the so-called entourage effect, whereby the individual cannabinoids (CBD, CBN) and terpenes work together to enhance their effectiveness.

CBD on the go

Although CBD oils and drops containing up to 0.2% THC are legal in many countries, it is advisable to check the laws and regulations in the country you are travelling to before you go. Always check if CBD is legal in your area and carry the original box and a certificate or lab analysis to prove the content and amount of active ingredients.

A few useful tips in conclusion

Summer holidays are the perfect time to relax, adventure and recharge. However, preparation and departure can be accompanied by nervousness and stress. Here are a few final recommendations on how to prepare for your holiday:

  • Planning: Find out as much information as possible about the country you are going to. Find out about the weather, local customs and the sights you plan to visit. Make sure you have all the necessary documents such as passports, visas, reservations and insurance.
  • Packing: Make a list of all the important things you will need. Pack appropriate clothing and footwear for your destination and planned activities. Don't forget toiletries, medicines, sunscreen and sunglasses.
  • Organisation: Book accommodation, flights and other services in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Don't forget to plan time to relax. To recharge and relax on holiday, take some time to read your favourite book, laze by the pool or do other activities that bring you joy.

Take care of your health on the go. Don't neglect your sleep, drink enough, eat tasty, good quality food and engage in physical activities such as cycling, walking or swimming. Enjoy your holidays and if it doesn't go exactly as you want, don't worry about it. Most travel complications can be resolved and unpleasant experiences become happy stories in hindsight.
